THE MOTORTOWN ALL-STARS
AT THE RIVERFRONT IN DOWNTOWN FLINT
The excitement continued on Friday, August 17, 2018 as the CRUISE “N” CONCERT returned to the Riverfront in Downtown Flint. Rain threatened, but the skies miraculously cleared, and there was plenty to see and do before the show began. Adding to the festive atmosphere, local restaurants and bars were open, and additional food and automotive vendors were available on the Flat Lot from 5 to 9 PM. “Early birds” checked out the classic cars, or grabbed a bite to eat. The “bricks” on Saginaw Street in front of the Water Street Pavilion became a sea of lawn chairs as fans gathered to listen and enjoy the music of country crooner, DAVE LAGNESS, who opened the biggest and best FREE concert ever at 7 PM. During the break between acts, the crowd stood in appreciation and cheered as some of “America’s finest,” approximately twenty young recruits, repeated the oath, and joined the Marines. The crowd also observed a moment of silence in memory of Aretha Franklin, the “Queen of Soul.” The MOTORTOWN ALL-STARS, Back to the Bricks® by popular demand, took the stage from 8:00-9:30 PM. An enthusiastic audience greeted their polished performance of Motown’s Greatest Hits with dancing in the streets and plenty of applause.
