Meet your City Captains

Craig & Madeline Palmer

Craig and Madeline Palmer are husband and wife city captains for this year’s Founders Promo Tour for the city of South Bend, IN. Craig & Madeline Palmer, Married, have lived at their current address for 49 years in Clio. They have 2 sons, Todd Palmer of Clio, and Kevin Palmer, daughter-in law Jinny Palmer of Lapeer, and 4 grandchildren, Rylan, Aiden, Astin & Ayla. They signed up for their first promo tour in 2021, but Madeline had health issues and couldn’t make the trip. In 2022 she had family estate issues to take care of, so Craig attended solo.

On January 1st, 2004, Craig retired from GM with 34+ years’ service. Seven months after retiring from GM he took another job with Severstal Steel, formerly Ford Rouge Steel that was in Dearborn, Michigan for 9 years. After the job with the steel mill, he took yet another job with Regional Steel Distribution Center for about 9 months, before retiring permanently to run their own business GPI Properties LLC along with his wife.

This will be Madeline’s first promo tour. They are both honored to having been selected as city captains for South Bend and being more active with the Back to the Bricks Organization. They are both members of the Flint Corvette Club since December 8, 2017, 6 days after Craig picked up their 2017 Corvette on his 67th birthday, December 2, 2017. They have never owed any other classic cars. Their Corvette will most likely be the first, last, only Corvette we will ever own. Craig has held the offices of Social Director and Membership director in the Flint Corvette club. When they first bought the Corvette, Craig wasn’t sure what he wanted to do with the car. After attending a car show he was hooked. Now he has attended 45+ car shows a season, starting in February with the BttB Chrome and Ice Show. The last two years that Craig has entered the Chrome & Ice Show, the car has placed in the top 25. The 2022 car show season has gone well with the car getting 24 awards in 46 car shows. The cars name is “Redline”.
