Nearly 400 vehicles took part in the FIRST EVER Back to the Bricks® ROAD RALLY, brought to you by SHEA AUTOMOTIVE GROUP in partnership with HALO BURGER. Moderate temperatures and warm sunshine made it a PERFECT DAY to be “on the road again” with the Back to the Bricks® family!
WORTH THE WAIT!
Hundreds of cars, shined and ready to roll, began lining up before 8 AM at Shea Chevrolet on Corunna and Linden Road in Flint. Car aficionados enjoyed the classic sounds of Black Tie Productions before heading out on a long overdue adventure.
TOP SECRET!
Road Rally participants were handed a packet containing top-secret route directions and additional information that morning without leaving the safety of their vehicle, and departed in small groups through the iconic Back to the Bricks® arch onto Corunna Road heading West.
“SOCIAL DISTANCING” DID NOT CANCEL FUN!
Although the various communities were aware of our plans, and the event was covered by ABC Channel 12 News, the Road Rally itinerary was NOT publicized in advance to prevent crowds from congregating along the road. Bathrooms and sanitation stations were available at the start, ½ way mark, and finish line. Participants were encouraged to observe all “social distancing” guidelines as they “cruised” a little over 100 miles through some of Mid-Michigan’s most picturesque small towns and cities.
SHARING THE JOY!
Perhaps the most memorable positive comment came from someone whose mother has been quarantined because of health issues. She was so excited to see “a car show right outside her picture window!”
VISUAL SCAVENGER HUNT!
Drivers and passengers answered quick and easy questions about what they observed as they traveled through Flushing, Montrose, Chesaning, St. Charles, Birch Run, Frankenmuth, Tuscola, Vassar, Millington, Otisville, and Clio before returning to Shea. The WINNER of the Road Rally Visual Scavenger Hunt was announced Monday, June 15th on Facebook LIVE. Congratulations, Scott Kirby!

All proceeds from the $10 per car registration fee are being donated to the FOOD BANK of EASTERN MICHIGAN. It’s amazing, but they are able to multiply whatever they receive. For example, a $1.00 contribution to the Food Bank of Eastern Michigan provides 6 meals, so this event will provide more than 18,000 meals to needy individuals and families. Back to the Bricks® is proud to give back to the community we love!
